Bakery Porter

The Company

Bakeri Baltzersen is the recently established wholesale and retail bakery operation that is part of Baltzersen’s, and is based 7km outside Harrogate at Springfield Farm on the A59 near Menwith Hill. We bake a range of long fermented sourdough loaves, rye, ciabatta and more traditional yeasted white and granary style loaves/rolls. We also bake pastry and vienoisserie from scratch.

The Role

We are seeking a full-time Bakery Porter who will support our bakers during production and play the key role in keeping our machinery and workspace clean and functioning.

You'll have the use of a brand new Winterhalter utensil washer to make your work as efficient as possible.

The daily routine will revolve around cleaning the utensils and containers used by the bakers. You will also complete daily, weekly and monthly cleaning and maintenance tasks throughout the bakery.

Keeping our crates and totes clean for deliveries is also vitally important, so a regular rotation of these through the utensil washer will be important.

You'll be the contact for receiving, recording and properly storing deliveries and then other duties as directed by the bakery and delivery leaders.


The hourly for this role is £10.50/hr.


9am - 5pm

Mon - Fri (but may include weekend days by agreement if possible)


The location of the bakery and the times of the shifts mean that you need to have your own transport to get you to and from the bakery. Public transport is not an option.
