Next stop... LS22 - We're opening in Wetherby

Posted by Paul Rawlinson on

We are very pleased to be able to announce that our next Bakeri Baltzersen shop, our first outside the HG postcode, will be opening in Wetherby this Summer.

Wetherby is a great, thriving town full of local independent businesses like Appletons and Tarbett's as well as high street staples Timpsons and Johnsons. We're excited for Bakeri Baltzersen to sit nicely alongside them - or at least just around the corner!

Current progress

We are currently working with the landlord of 41 High Street, the former Santander bank, to transform the space into the latest iteration of our bakery shop offer. One of the first elements of the work was to install a ramp from street level to ensure that all customers will be able to access the building.

The product range

This store will offer our full range of bread and pastries and hot and cold sandwiches to grab and go, as well as the usual delicious coffee to takeaway. It will benefit from a huge 5.8m long counter on which to really showcase our freshly baked and prepared food.

Bakeri Baltzersen also works with other local suppliers including Lishman's butchers, Shepherds Purse and Wensleydale Creamery and Bumble Wraps, so watch out for these brilliant names in the Wetherby shop too.  We'll also have our incredibly popular salt beef and pastrami products, branded tote bags, jams and preserves.

Recruitment

We will have positions available for a bakery shop manager plus two full time shop assistants and potentially other casual staff. If you are interested in a role with us in Wetherby you can get ahead of the game by emailing a CV and covering letter to hiring@baltzersens.co.uk.

Opening

Subject to unforeseen setbacks the new shop is set to open its doors in early August. We'll be opening daily, 8am - 3pm.

Now the bad news...

The establishment of the Wetherby branch has unfortunately meant we have had to make a difficult decision to close our Knaresborough pop-up store. We've really enjoyed being a part of the indie scene in Knaresborough, but with already limited capacity at the bakery we need to rework our allocation of resource as we further expand our footprint to support the wider business. The Knaresborough store will operate its final day on 4th July 2021. We'd like to thank everyone who has supported us there.

    _Ann and Paul,

Thanks so much for your continued support. The team have done a great job over the last 15 months and the continued development of the business is only possible because of their hard work, craft and enthusiasm. We’re really looking forward to being part of the indie scene in Wetherby and taking the products our team make to a new audience.

    Regards
